Baaren Schlosse (Bear Castle) is a reeeeally small "castle" that is nearby. Within walking distance, in fact. There's a bunch of trails real near us, but they overlap and aren't marked very well. We just haven't found the right trail that leads to it. So we took the car. Kristin's German teacher told her about it, and we decided we'd have lunch at the little restaurant in the basement. We took a walk on the little footpath around the lake that the castle overlooks on it's hill in order to work up an appetite for an ice cream after that. Lucy had a great time, sniffing everything she could. She stayed blissfully unaware of a very small snake (maybe 5 inches long) that Kristin spotted, though. Sorry- no pictures of that. Kristin was too busy "eeking."
Kristin and I loved the feel of the entire place, though, and vowed to come back, by bike or foot. We'll find that path.
Sometimes, Lucy prefers to ride backwards in the car. She is a weird dog.
