Hello From Newport

Hi everyone! Kristin here coming at you from our new (rental) home! We have so much to share with you. Since we blogged last we have visited 7 countries, moved to Newport, RI, and had many adventures. First things first - we have had many requests to get a house tour of our new place, so here it is! I give you, the living room: 

I am so proud of us.  These pictures date from about 3 weeks after we moved in.  I am fully aware that we will probably never unpack and get the house settled this quickly again! 

The picture above is of the other side of the living room.  Check out the fireplace.  After three years without one, we are super excited about snuggling in front of a roaring fire this winter (and making smores).   

I have been really happy with the kitchen.  We even painted some stools for the bar (more on that later).  It is hard to tell in the picture but the kitchen is open to the living room. It makes an "L" shape.

This is our dining/kitchen table with great views of the back yard. 

We have a sweet screened in porch that is great for dining al fresco and grilling in the rain.  

After spending three years of its short life in our basement, the hammock is finally reassembled.   

Ok we are back inside now.  This is our bedroom.  It is just big enough for our furniture and has a small mirrored closet on the wall that isn't visible.  

This is our master bath.  We also have a guest bath that I haven't snapped a photo of yet. 

Guest room.  This room is still a work in progress.  We have already changed some things and are currently building an upholstered headboard to go with the new bed frame and mattress.  

So there you have it.  Our house minus three important features: the 2 car garage, the giant/gross basement, and the really amazing, but messy office.  Expect photos of the office and our guest room changes coming soon!
