Digging out

Melody and Kristin in Vaihingen

Kristin's out of the hospital, now, and recuperating slowly. Her missing thyroid means she's not as energetic, but that's a temporary condition until she starts taking her thyroid medicine in a few weeks. In the meantime, she gets out of the house for at least a little time every day- we went to a nearby mall yesterday, so you KNOW she's feeling better already! In the meantime thank goodness we had some 'Gilmore Girls' and 'The Office' shows on DVD to watch.

The Moms have come and filled our refrigerator AND our bellies! Mom Goad came first, and in her usual tornado fashion, was no sooner inside the door than she was unpacking boxes, washing sheets, ironing clothes and cooking food. She even shaved the dog. We're not sure if she slept. :) Mom Brooks came towards the end of Mom Goad's visit, and assisted with the last of the box unpacking and organization efforts while the two of them were both here. Since then, she's been keeping house for us. While I continue to organize and and fix things, Mom Brooks has been washing clothes, washing dishes, cooking meals, and best of all, cooking DESSERT! We love the peach pie she made.

Many thanks go to both Moms who have helped us out so much. I initially thought I could handle this, and it's now obvious I was in waaay over my head, and would still be unpacking several months from now! While I'm thanking people, I'd love to thank everyone for all their well-wishes, and most especially, their prayers for Kristin's well-being. I really feel like the hand of God has been with us throughout this ordeal- the most qualified doctors we could ask for have popped into our lives to treat Kristin, and answer questions to allay our fears. Complicated paperwork and processes have seemed to smooth themselves out. This is not an easy process for anyone to go through, but it has been made easier by people we love, and a God who loves us.

I am so glad that you are feeling much better. God has his hands on your life and he will continue to bless you both. Kristin you look like your mom and and I can see some Tyler's mom in Tyler as well. Nice pictures.

Oh yea I have not sent your book yet. I know that I am a slacker but I do promise it will come so sorry but we have been so busy.

Keep in touch.
