Submission date

This past weekend Tyler took me on a really fun date. I had been watching Oprah a few months ago and one of her therapist guests was talking about "Submission Dates." The idea is that you let your man pick out everything about an evening out. That includes what you wear, where you go and what you eat! (Scary, I know!) The idea is that your man will prove to you that he knows you well and has your best interests at heart. If you are like me (and I think lots of women are) you plan everything for you family - from dinners to vacations to picking out clothes. I was really excited to give Tyler a chance to make all the decisions and he did not disappoint.

Tyler began our date by picking out a red sweater/brown pants combo for me to wear. This isn't something that I would have picked out for myself, but it was comfy, matched and wasn't a super short skirt! After that he surprised me by taking me to the spa for a one hour massage. It felt so nice and relaxing! He said that he could tell that I needed a massage. Next he surprised me by taking me to a local German restaurant that I had been wanting to try. We both had steak! YUM! When dinner was over, Tyler took me to see The Time Traveler's Wife (chick flick that I had been wanting to see), which was such a welcomed break from G.I. Joe, Transformers...etc. We had such a wonderful date because Tyler picked the perfect things for us to do and I can't wait to try it again sometime.

I highly recommend trying the Submission Date with your husband sometime. It felt so wonderful to have a night of surprises and to not have to make any plans!
